anyone have any opinions of the significance of the spiral, i know all the stuff about its appearance in nature and the fibonnaci sequence...however it was a significant theme in one of my first acid trips...anyone have anything to say about it besides "ughh" cus thats usually all i hear

You mean like the fractaling effect you get from acid? I get that, it's what makes acid so damn fun. It gets so intense sometimes that i can feel myself getting sucked into the fractaling spiral, and becoming it.

I get this spiral of woes through certain dreams and through the life I have. Everything gets too much.

I think the images on this site will define it for you.

i know wat fractaling looks like... im talking about the scientific or mathematical principle that causes it, like, does it have to do with, lets say, the fibonacci sequence

the fibonacci sequence is like, this math thing... i dont know to much about it, but it creates a spiral, its like 1,2,3,5, 8, 13, and so on, each number is the sum of the two previous numbers...it corresponds with spirals found in nature...it has to do with all that crazy math stuff like the golden ratio and pi and shtuff

i was asking if there is like a theory or an idea or a mathematical principle or something behind fractaling, thus alloring people to recreate it, obviously there has to b some formula cus people are making fractal art...but i dont really know, thats why im asking

I'm sure there is more then one formula required, but you want have to worry about using them while doing fractal art because the computer does that for you. I really would like to start doing it, but have no one to show me how.

i found this program that does any image u want in sort of a spiral pattern, i havent tried it out much but it seems more complicated than how i described it, if i come across the link again ile send it to u, or maybe just hook u up with the program direct, its pro. not wat ure talking about though...but anyway, if u want it, lemme know

the phi curve. the most pervasive image in nature. all of life is a phi curve. the fibonacci sequence is a mathematical representation of the phi curve, and pi is the mathematical value for one "circle" in the curve.

when i first started reading about phi i got really obsessed with it and it almost took over my life. watch the movie Pi to see where that can lead you.

interesting side not, Dany Carey, the drummer for Tool mapped all the beats for Lateralus based on the Fibonacci sequence. He's a pretty crazy motherfucker.

Really. That band is filled with talent. I know that the guitarist from tool use to be into special effects for horror movies. Did some pretty cool shit.
