I just want to know form the Hippies from the 60's 70's what it was like to live in the days that where carefree and Peace and Love ruled and every thing was good
not to be a buzzkill, but I seriously doubt there was ever a time where peace and loved ruled and everything was good.
Like I've posted before, paraphrasing Gilbert Gottfried: People used to walk around with dazed looks on their faces and saying over and over, with disbelief, "Wow, this sure is a long time ago!"
Their was so much publicity around the hippie movement of the 60's, because of the many protest marches, and unrest with the politics of the country. They were a small minority actually (compared to the mainstream mindset), but an outspoken, and angry group, sick and tired of living the American Dream, heartbroken about all the injustices they saw around them) The activists of those days put themselves on the line, got killed for the cause, had sit-ins and many protests, and also Love-ins (festivals, communes, alternative lifestyles, etc.) to balance the unrest of the times, and come together to create a new culture ). There is just as many of us hippies today (obvious from this forum). Maybe we are just discouraged at raging against the machine, maybe its just old news (we like to past trip) to be anti-establishment, or perhaps we are growing in Love, in our quiet numbers multiplying, and we will have a movement as memorable as the sixties again, and soon I hope. Love is alive in the world !!!!!!!!!! Here and Now !!!!!!
Yeah, the days where Black people couldn't get any civil rights; the days of thousands of people dying in the Vietnam war; the days of asassinations; and the days of the Ku Klux Klan. Wow...They were good times.
