Some people have a problem with PMT. I have a problem with GMT! It gets dark so early under this oppressive time zone, and needlessly so. It's not war time anymore. Farmers don't need the dawn's early light to go about their business and get a full day out in the fields. Coming back from work or lectures or school when it's getting dark is just depressing. I considered making a one man protest against it. Keeping my watch an hour ahead and continuing to live my life around British Summer Time. Alas, the oppressed masses of this country continue to live under the cruel yoke of GMT- trapped within a false consciousness that has them setting timetables and appointments to hours that are not aligned with my vision of a better world. The poor fools. If I ruled the world, or even just the small portion of it that is the United Kingdon, I would abolish GMT and move to British Summer Time only....

throw out your watch and ignore time altogether
there are only 2 times of day..the light part and the dark part
carrythat over to days..weeks..months.. ya have no weekdays and weekends..no holidays and work days no months and years.;..just cold times and hot times..dark and light..younger days and older days

time is so much simpler..as is life...when you refuse to measure it by the dials on a watch
i've never owned 1..and the 2 clocks i have (pc & tv) are both set to random times

I had a hippy girlfriend once who went by the same principle and refused to wear a watch. Unfortunately this led to her, somewhat hypocritically, asking me for the time literally every five minutes. Ahh dear. I like your beard by the way. Have you ever considered competing in the World Beard Championships?

hahaha nope..cause kept sittin on it and yanked off 2 beard dreads..bout 9 invches each..lol so kinda lopsided..but the new dreads are almost 6 inches now..and eventualy the other long ones will yank off..cause i'm always sittin on em accidently

i'm the opposite..its very rare i ever wanna know the time...and i'm always bout an hour early..for everything...and absolutely everyone i know who wears a watch..is always 1-5 hours late...always

That's not as bad as what happened to Jonny2Mad. He had been growing his beard without trimming it for a year, and I think he wasn't quite aware of how long it was. We were at Glastonbury and he was lighting a flare and lent over a bit too far. I turn my back for a second, and suddenly his face is on fire! Crazy....

I find that the change in daylight helps me remember what season we are in.

It's horrible, especially for the children to come home in the dark from school. I wouls abolish it also.

Personally it should be JMT. But that will never happen. Getting in sync with Europe is what we should do. We should abolish BST altogether and should put our clocks one hour forward of GMT to French timezone. As there is only an hour difference between France and Britain in GMT, it makes sense to go with Daylights savings and finally get in sync with mainland Europe. BST was only created to allow school kids to go to school safely.

I'm glad others can see the evils inherent to GMT. It is a tool of repression and must be overthrown!
