Reading is a lovely Town on the river Thames. Over the years Reading has seen newer attractions like the Oracle and a stunning complex by the River Avon at the back of the Oracle. For me, Reading was always a unique and interesting place. It was a place which I lived in for three years whilst in a childrens home on the other side of the Thames in neighbouring Caversham.

Caversham village as I remembered it was a cute little Village. A Forbouys newsagent and a library were the highlights of Caversham. However just ten minutes down the road you have the Warren. Another cute little area beside the Thames. Lots of houses with gardens going down to the Thames and then further still, you come to the Bluebells woodlands before getting to Mapleduram house.

I still see Reading as a place for hippies because of its cultural scene. It is a Town where all cultures meet.

So this one goes out to tourists. Any questions about Reading?

Additional: It is possible to buy a Busabout ticket to use on Reading and Newbury bus network. You must purchase on board because no newsagents will sell bus passes. I went into one asking and they didn't know what a bus pass was.

Whitley was in the time I was there, not very safe area. It was a rough area with gangs on street corners due to the amount of schools in close proximaty. I remember one night going to Lazer quest with some of my folk in care home and apparently one of the staff overheard some blokes talking about abducting me. We subsequently bolted out the door, passed the bloke who was going to do the job and were extremely lucky.

    Whitley was a dodgy area.

What do you think of the Battle area? That's where my brother lives.

Heard of Battle hospital. Think the Battle area is okey. I prefer Central reading and the long Oxford road for the second hand shops. Whether they still exist I am unsure. Favourite place to eat in Reading is the Iguana bar.

The only good thing about this area really is that it's just around the corner from the festival site. There have been several high-profile rape and murders literally around the corner from where me bro lives. He is unwilling to bring a child up in this area, perhaps wisely.

I worked in Reading for a bit. Coincided with the festival, so fence jumped in. It was shit and full of young teenagers putting plastic on fires. So I promptly fence jumped back out again. Met a lot of people down on their luck in Reading. Some junkies, some bereaved partners of junkies and some sad tales all round. Often of people who had moved to Reading. As one resident said "Good people come to Reading and it destroys them!" I think the town is cursed....

I think there might be a bit of a heroin problem there. All the public toilets are kitted out with UV lights....
