    what is the peace for you? how can be obtained the peace in the world?

    I thing that the peace is:

    1. respect towards all and all;
    2. to help the others without to have null in exchange;

    Bye Bye...

    I agree with you, tolerance and non-profit actions.

    peace has to start with personal freedom, which means no restrictions put in place by anyone; the law, society, or yourself. then we'll have to play out all of our horrible secret desires, and it will be chaos for a while, until we realize what really makes us happy.

    If you have no restrictions you probably (and unfortunately) will have no peace.

    there are no real restrictions... we just think there are... and look at the world.

    so i disagree... i think inevitably that is the only way to achieve lasting peace, although other ways might bring short term "calmness", stop us from killing eachother. but those other ways (trying to force restriction on anyone) haven't worked so far...

    you can have ethics, morals, and respect, and that'll produce some boundaries that most of us won't cross. but right now those boundaries are ridiculous and if you step an inch over them you'll be punished. that doesn't work, if you're trying to attain peace. no restrictions doesn't mean total chaos and anarchy... there can still be order. it just means no punishment. because if there isn't a natural punishment that comes from doing something wrong, who's to say it's wrong at all? with the way society is set up now, it's like we're trying to skip past the evolving part of evolution and act like we know what is "best" in the end, and try to make everyone be that without becoming it, but we have no idea what is really right. we have to work through different options before we can find out.

    True. But not everybody wants peace, so we need some restrictions unfortunately. And because not everyone wants peace world peace is impossible, even if like (for example) 50% of the worldpopulation wants peace. It's still very much worth making it as peaceful possible though.

    When I think of peace, I immediately think of diseased Puritans crossing the Atlantic, and the sick helping each other empty bedpans and such...

    Or... ship of fools.

    I don't know why.

    Then there's tranquility in nature, which is totally different...

    I belive in lockes view...which is also the libertarin view. You may do what ever you want as long as it does not get in the way of anothers happiness,life, or liberty and may not mess with their property. So you can do what ever you want as long as it does'nt harm other people. So the basic laws like, murder,stealing and all that are still in effect, which I'm fine with. I am also a bit of a socialist too.

    The thing is, it leads to econmic unrest (when monopoly capitalism kicks in), which leaves people angry. Not peaceful.

    maybe we never will have world peace... i don't know... but i think we all individually and as a group are constantly spiritually evolving, and i think we all are trying to get to the point where we can be happy. i don't think i've ever met anyone who honestly believes peace is a bad idea. i think we're all teetering on the edge of something, going back and forth, because we're scared to fall off, and we either have to scoot backwards or just go... but if we don't do one of the two we'll never find any kind of balance. but nobody knows what's on either side... which would be complete anarchy and complete dictatorship, i guess, maybe not. but i think people are at their core good and loving and once they exhaust all other options that's what they'll give in to.

    or not... but that's one of the only options there is...
