Has anyone read this book? It's a classic, very rich and beautifully told story about a African mans downfall due to colonialism (VERY simple analysis)and is also a type of writing back to Joseph Conrads 'Heart of Darkness' . Much work has been done in a rebuttal to 'Things Fall Apart' as well and a lot of those essays make for interesting reading. I personally loved it, what have others thought?
I think we're reading it for school later this year...the sophomores last year did at least. I've heard it was really good so I'm looking forward to it
Enjoy Treefiddy and if you want a great rebuttal to the book, Florence Strattons article 'How could things fall apart from whom they were not together?' is really good.
I read this book my junior year in high school. I remember not agreeing with all of it. The plot of the story was very slow paced. Apart from that, I don't really remember the story very well.
