I lost my WW11 cd 8years ago and never replaced it, found a discarded one on a run last week. Listening to 'Thug Luv' again, reiterates to me it was vastly underproduced and choppy. Your remix smoothes it out, not as expertly as 'Days of our Livez' and 'Righteous Ones' but TL is intended to be a hardcore song, not sentimental. However, the instrument that is amplified over Layzie and Krayzie verses is too much. Especially since it is one of Krayzie's (and BTnH's) greatest verses--that sound starts to remind me of 'North Coast' on Flesh's primary solo album and also of repeating 'video game elevator' music. Other that overriding instrument, it is skillfully mixed.
I cant undestand - r u liked my mix or not. Of couse i dont want to do music like original at that track - coase It is senseless.
I think even with its faults your version is an improvement over the album version. As far as I can surmise, you weren't paid to remix it. Translation: Good Job. However, that track was released in 1997 and was poorly produced in the first place, so my opinion is your mix is not the best possible mix. My contention is you make the intro, Bizzy's verse, and the beat very much better. The music volume noticably increases during 2PACs verse, which is helpful because his unclever verse was hampered even more by his average delivery. Your changes catch him up to Wish as the 4th best on the song: KB; LB=BB; TS=WB. KB and LB's lines are very precise, the periodically sweeping sound during their verses make them harder to follow. The sweeping sound continues through Wish's but doesn't hurt his part because he is more forceful with his rapping. Different rappers need different enhancements, Krayzie Bone is a versatile talent and on this song he does need a strong beat but otherwise he must be delicately treated, more like you do with Bizzy Bone. All in all=Good Job.
Thanks for opinion! u r great in rap critics And you well understand it.You have told about difficulties of this song, I have collided with them in work. Even one person has understood that this song not the most simple choice for a remix. If u want u can check my second 2pac's RMX "IF I DIE 2NIGHT". Your opinion is interestin 4 me!
