For the first time I've found an author whose writing doesn't seem to be ten puzzles a sentence. I understand the "finger pointing at the moon" concept, but when half the words in each sentence are in an Asian language, it makes it very difficult for me to follow what the author is teaching. I seem to get tangled in the words instead of getting some feeling of what's being shown to me.

Nhat Hanh has a gift for speaking/writing in plain language. He is a prolific author, and I am grateful for that. I live far from any teachers or sanghas and can't afford to travel much, so I must for now do the best I can with books. After finding his writings, things are starting to make more sense to me.

I have never read any of his books. I'll have to look him up some time. Thanks.

    Peace and love

I am reading "Living Buddha, Living Christ" by Nhat Hanh right now....beautiful. I am a Christian, but have always felt kindred to the teachings of Buddha. Nhat Hanh has adopted Christ as a spiritual ascestor, and I have adopted BUddha as one myself
