I plan to holiday in California but I have some questions I was orignally wanting to move there but have since decided for a holiday lol I got a AAA card from the AA over here and you can get discounts on where you stay I would like to stay from june-july to about a week or 2 weeks before christmas so I will need a visa but accomadation I want somewhere real cheap as I'm only going to be there to sleep basicly so I went to the AAA website and its a little confusing. I'm not interested in looking at the touristy stuff I've had a lot of stress and bad stuff in my life for a bit so I just want to go somewhere else to experience another place, unwind, have a good time but I don't know which part to go to I'm not keen on LA as it sounds expensive anyone got any ideas? I'm only going to be bringing over a $1000- 1500 US I think {hopefully more lol} so how far it will go I don't know so that why the place I pick I would want like real cheap place to stay because the more money I would have. I don't drive so getting around are bus services reliable if I want to go far {I can walk big distances trust me lol} And anything else anyone can tell me would be a fantastic help PS I'd love to meet anyone who would want to meet me while over there
I used to live in Venice Beach and in Hollywood. $1000-$1500 can last you a week if you spend wisely. Hollywood will ost you a pretty penny to hangout in, so beware. Venice Beach, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, and Culver City, are all cool places to hang out and aren't too expensive. Public transportation (RTD) is plentiful, so you will be able to get around easily. You can find a cheap youth hostle in Venice Beach. They aren't the best accommodations, but they are cheap. DON'T LEAVE ANY VALUABLE PROPERTY BEHIND IF YOU STAY IN A HOSTLE!!!!! L.A. is a large area with lots of things to do. You'll have a good time.
