I'll start off with a quote, it can be from a book, a song, a poem, whatever... but it should be relatively well known, not something that your uncle Cletus told you over last night's dinner. After someone guesses correctly, they can then post a quote for others to try and guess. AND NO CHEATING BY USING GOOGLE, DAMMIT!! lol here ya go:

"To be shaken out of the ruts of ordinary perception, to be shown for a few timeless hours the outer and inner world, not as they appear to an animal obsessed with survival or to a human being obsessed with words and notions, but as they are apprehended, directly and unconditionally, by Mind at Large— this is an experience of inestimable value to everyone and especially to the intellectual."

Who said it and what's it from?

Now, I did cheat a bit... I was 90% sure it sounded like Huxley, but I wasn't sure from where... so I did google that end and it's from the Doors of Perception, right?

here's mine... I thought it was good, it may have to be googled if anyone's wondering who said it:

"America had often been discovered before Columbus, but it had always been hushed up." clue: author.

As for yours, it sounds very familiar. I know I've heard it before... but I'm stumped. Anyone else have an idea?

Ah, your respect.... best prize of all! :)

Alright, well, I'm adding this quote because not only does it talk about knitting, but it also has my name in it, so it makes it cool! Or maybe not.... nonetheless, here it is....

    "Sabrina fair,
    Listen where thou art sitting
Under the glassy, cool, translucent wave,
In twisted braids of lillies knitting
The loose train of they amber-dropping hair."

Yes, all too often my references to Nietzsche and Kierkegaard go un-noticed.
