More of a vent guys, read if you'd like...

In todays world there is so much violence, pain, and suffering that it seems there is no place in society left for peace, love, and understanding. I aim to find a place for the last. Just because it appears that no change is happening, that no progress towards a better society is taking place, does not mean it can not happen. People today are so ready to accept everything thrown at them. If they are told there is no time, place, or reason for peace, love, and understanding they beleive it. Society today needs to stand on our own two feet, push for what we beleive and want not what the establishment tells us we want. To live in a society where one can truly be happy I feel three things are nececary: Love, Peace, and Understanding.

    1. Love: Love is nececary in all societys, everywhere, and every second of the day. Tell everyone you love them, even those your not sure you do. Love is not a word to be kept to yourself, what good does keeping all your love bottled up do? Don't be afraid to show love in your everyday life. Of course your love of family, friends, and partners may be one type of love, but nothing is keeping you from sharing another type of love with everybody. Love eveyone as your brother in life, they are going through the same struggle as you so help them out just as you would want them to help you out.

    2. Understanding: To live happily with others you must be prepared to deal with manerisms, cultural differences, and personality clashes so being understanding of these differences and even embracing them is nececary. When you are around others you want them to accept you for who you are, then why not return the favor. Understand that every person is an individual and deserves the due respect. Allow others to be who they are, and they will do the same for you.

    3. Peace: This is probally the most important factor, and requires the above two too flourish. Peace is a word that brings about many thoughts; no wars, no bombs, doves, hippys...the list is endless. Why not embrace peace, spread the message of peace, and work towards a better place for our families to grow up in? Peace is the answer, just give it a chance and you will soon agree.

If we were to impliment the above three principals into our daily lives then the world we live in would become a much better place. People would help one another, look out for one another, and work together to better the place we all call home.

the problem is...people are too conformist, they believe they make they're own desisions but really they don't. they allow others to control them because they are too stupid/lazy to think for themselves...sad, isn't it?

Really, it's not a case of 'We comform because we are lazy arseholes/we're idiots', it's just that the general public aren't exposed to this view on life. It's covered up by companies pushing the allready exepted lifestyle of 'everyone's an arsehole but you, but as much shit as possible' view on life. When we are exposed to the consept of Peace, love and understanding, it's from either a world leader who either has little influence and when peoples backs are turned, bombs a small oil rich nation, or a certian bad-mouth Irish bloke with bad hair.

If we practice those consepts out in the open, we may spread something, if we show there is an alternitive and it's not priced £99 from John Lewis, We could start something...

and I don't mean just one or two people doing this, I mean tens or hundreds.

    Peace begins at home.

Those three things should be taught in school!

that is why I follow techings of Christ and Buddha...every message they taught had those 3 principles.
Im not religious, but spiritual, and I hope no one takes offense...im not trying to preach to anyone. these teachers have helped me to achieve peace, love and understanding more than words can say. Im not beating anyone into conversion, but if you do hold these principles to a high standard, please read buddha and christ...you will not find any disagreement

It is no more preachy to point to Jesus or Buddha, than to see Jimi Hendrix or Bob Marley as an example of outspoken wisdom. We listen to people who tell us truths, and we want to talk to others about what we have heard. Spreading Love Peace and Understanding in this world takes a global grapevine, including any who have ever said anything profound about living together peacefully on this planet, and making it a positive, enriching experience for all.

I'd agree, there is so much beyond the normal religious teachings, read about these two on your own...there's lot's the preachers don't tell you (not that it's bad things, just not mentioned in chruch). I know what you mean about being spiritual...I'm sort of the same way. I don't follow a religion but rather I pull parts and ideas from other religious, teachers, and others to from my own ideals. lol....sorry I'm stoned, home alone, and bored....wifes at work and I only have srg. peppers and endless sky ;) to keep me happy (www.drgreenthumb.com endless sky)
