I am taking my first attempt with growing with my dad's help. Right now the seeds are in 1 big flower pot together in a closet with a regular lamp running from about 8 am-12am. we are buying 2 uv lights and setting up the plants in their own soil with miracle grow. I have no idea what kind of seeds we have. we just have seeds. So after this project is over i will continue to grow which would be the best seeds to start with for my second run.

Don't keep them all in one pot, they will strangle each other. Don't use a UV light as it can harm the plants, and can cause hermies to develop. DO NOT use miracle grow, and DO NOT fertilize until they are 3-4 weeks old. Buy a book and read it, then read it again, it really is worth it. Cannabis is a funny plant to grow, it has quite specific requirements.

That's because you can't grow pot under regular lights. Only 3 kinds of light work:
    Fluoro's--poor but do-able
MH--great for veg, not so much for flowering
HPS--the King of lights for indoor growing.

like sibannac said, read a grow book before attempting to grow weed.
To grow weed indoors you also need a light tight enclosure and ventilation.

Btw, it's much much cheaper to grow outdoors. Plant in the spring, harvest in the fall.
