Yeah Seinfeld is still the shit, and so is Kramer. However, I now have zero respect for Michael Richards.
I think Kramer has deeper problems than simply his racist rant. I suspect it's probably something along the lines of Kramer vs Kramer Within the week he'll probably check into a drug or alcohol detox clinic :H Hotwater
folks lose it... it happens and its a gift when it does cuz it shows you your shit that you're not letting go of... hopefully he'll see what's not working for him and moveon.org
Kramer was totally out of line guys. Whatever was left of his career has been shot to hell. He's done
thinking about how he is, I think its not that he is racist necessarily, its that he seems crazy, seriously crazy in person, and I think he goes way over the top performing, and he just lost it and spewed regardless of the reasoning, yea, oops fucking very embarassing and detrimental to a career maybe i cursed him when he looked into my eyes and seemed like he wanted to fight me heehee
another interesting YouTube postr about this: "So u honestly think after this man called the african american in question a "******" after being heckled.. HECKLED... that the black man should be looked down upon for responding with "cracker-ass" and Kramer should b let off with a short apology?? Im not condoning either of their actions but to answer ur question as to why African-Americans can and should kill any Anglo-Saxon for their use of such words... SLAVERY AND THE OPPRESSION OF BLACK PEOPLE WASNT AND ISNT A MYTH" wow. okay I'm putting everything on a scale here: great ----- truly seeing all people as equals good ------ acting like you do on the line - calling someone a racial slur in anger bad ------- glorifying racial persecution in anger worst ----- that dude
i've joined the boycott of the "seinfeld" show until they edit out all scenes with michael richards in them
http://youtube.com/watch?v=EI5dGM_l9l8&mode=related&search= that's his apology on Letterman, in case anyone's looking for it. It may not have been the greatest apology, but it was said. I too wasn't a big fan of that comedy club outburst, it's inappropriate to say the least, but as wrong as it was, he did try to apologize for it at least.
The apology looked like it was scripted at the highest levels of Aryan Nation deep within there secret compound in the wilds of Northern Idaho Hotwater
Well, I didn't think so. Whether he's actually racist on his own, is likely, but I've no idea. Granted I've little respect for people who are assholes and offensive in public, I do respect that someone makes an effort for an apology, scripted or not. He'd be a bigger jerk if he didn't make an attempt at an apology at all. an added note: I'm just as offended at the audience member who called him a Cracker as I am at Richards for saying ******. Neither is appropriate, both are racist. I don't see the audience member making attempts at an apology. Then again, we don't persecute people who aren't celebrities.
Richards has been around long enough to know that we hold celebrities to a higher standard. If he thought his status as a comedian offered some sort of immunity (perhaps a sort of implied immunity) he was wrong. Hotwater
I agree, Richards has been around long enough to know that. I don't think there was anything that implied the fact that he thought his status excused him from anything. Clearly what he said was wrong, and half-assed or not, he still apologised for it. Neither he nor I are implying otherwise.
to each their own, I suppose. Besides, I never understood this whole thinking that it's ok for black people to say ****** but it's not ok for white people to use it. A word is either racist or it ain't.
