Yes, it's true, if every decision and every action has a certain number of consequences, and each consequence, as the theory goes (as in Sliders), could branch off and form another reality, then in an alternate reality I'm dead. I was sitting in the kitchen the other day. My friend came in drunk, and started playing one of his favourite songs. He's a communist, so he gets very into these political songs, and it has him gesticulate very wildly. Unfortunately, he happened to be making food at the time, and had a kitchen knife in his hand. I wasn't really hungry, but I decided at that moment that I wanted some pizza. So i got up to make some. And at that moment, the knife flew out of his hand and powerfully impacted on the wall, just behind where I had been sitting! If I had not moved, the knife would have stuck in my eye, and I would either be very blind or very dead. So, thank goodness for the Italians. They annoyed me last week since one of them stole a load of money from my account. But this week they've made up for it by inventing pizza, which saved my life. I've had a couple of close brushes with death before. I've electrocuted myself when the cover of my light switch fell off and I reached in in the dark to turn it on. I've also landed on my head whilst skiing, and once, when biking down a hill, my leg caught the wheel and I flew over the handlebars and the bike landed on top of me just as two cars were coming. I'm beginning to think I lead a charmed life. Has anyone else had any lucky escapes?
I survived 2 strains of meningitis at once! And also I was thrown backwards across a room when a plug disintegrated as I was pushing it into a live socket and my hand went across the pins. Luckily, I only touched the live and earth, so the leccy only went through my hand and not through the rest of me which would have left me quite possibly quite friend and quite not alive.
I live in America, speak out heavily against the government, and am pro-9/11 truth, and they haven't come and put me in a sack yet. So, yeah. XD
Ooh, try doing that in North Korea, you might have better luck :jester: By the way, what's 9/11 truth? Is that a conspiracy theory?
I am amazed I am not dead yet. With the woes of my life, axes over my head and living in a turbulent callous world that has forced me to act like I am forty rather than 24, I am amazed I have not fallen to the floor or have buzzards flying around me. I am like Edward Scissorhands. All alone in a castle on top of a hill. I can see all the way to the ocean sometimes.
'9/11' truth is the unofficial, blanket term for all the facts, theories, and so forth regarding what -really- happened that day. It's also the name for the Movement behind bringing these facts to light.
I'd have to agree with you on living a charmed life after reading that, Sal! Gosh man, that's more close shaves than anyone should have to go through. Nothing too scary has happened to me since I was a baby really...How d'you spell it?...Umbillical cord round the neck at birth, a very blue newborn. Gastro-Enteritis not long after that which was apparently quite serious. And not long into my crawling days I banged my chin on a window putting my bottom two teeth right through my tongue...Still have the scar to this day, which freaks most people out. Obviously that wouldn't of killed me, but could of wrecked my chances of speaking and whatnot.
Hmm, I suppose I've had a few. I fell off a 50 foot cliff when I was 11. Once I was walking across a set of traffic lights after the man had turned green and a car comes screaming down the road and goes straight through the red light. I just froze in a panic halfway across, luckily he managed to slam his breaks on at the last minute and literally skidded out of the way with a couple of feet to spare. Lots of near misses on my bike, including the other day when someone came hurtling at top speed out of a side-road I was passing and I very nearly ended up on his bonnet, again he just managed to skid to a halt...
