I love the quote, it is words of wisdom without a doubt. The picture rocks as well. It's cool to hear you both have kept up with each other for many moons. I still have some of my old partying friends from back in the early 70's I hear from off and on. We converse about all the good times we had and what a large bummer on how the music scene has taken a downward slope. Thanks for sharing.. Made me have an awesome flashback. Guess I better get back to scoping out how to do all this profile stuff. This is a new world for me.. Cannot wait to get the groove of this site.. Indeed, but there's nothing wrong with that. Although, in my case, the red, bulb is my increasingly balding head - male pattern baldness... is there a worse curse for an old hippie? As to when I'll be heading North (that's when - not if), I don't know. As I continue simplifying my life, my cash income needs decrease, and so my farm activity needs are also reducing. A year and a half ago I made the transition to "empty nest" status when the youngest of my two sons headed out into his adult life. Between that and other things(like hearing Willie singing "On the Road Again" in the back of my mind) , I had a route roughly set in my "mind". Go over to Georgia, see HHB & Dilly, then Chattanogga, then W.V. & say hi to Earthmother, Ohio & see Teepi & her hubby, stop in Philly & try to look up SoaringEagle - just to shake his hand if nothing else, then up your way to look around and sit around a camp fire & talk - even if for just one night, then to Toronto & look up some old friends, then over to the UP of Michigan (Marquette), down through Wisconsin to visit my Mother's grave, to Iowa & visit WoodenFrog, and then stop by The Farm & see some folks there (MushoomPeople)who've been after me for about 12 years to stop by. Of course, few if any of the people to be visited knew about this idea, but there are standing invitations with most of them. Have a trusted friend lined up to farm-sit. Seemed like a good way to spen 5 or 6 weeks during January & February and still be back in time to get things cranked up here. Then this happened: In the interest of full disclosure: Don't get it wrong, I'm a Buddist & Atheist (some say the one implies the other), I'm not working on this because of being big in the Episcopal Church, but I know folks who are. And when I found out that these not-at-all wealthy people were trying to help the people in Haiti who are much worse off... well, I've just got to try to help them, help them - if you see what I mean. I have experience in water systems & plumbing, electrical systems, 80% of the people of Haiti are subsistance gardeners & I have some knowledge there too. On the other hand, I have 30 years experience on, in , and with computer systems and could be of help to the schools too. In the long run, I don't know how much help I'll be, but I know how strongly I want to try. So it looks like it'll be yet a while before I can make the trip mentioned above. But I do truely think it'd be great to have and post some similar pictures to the pic of Olhippie and Wizarddrew77. Thanks all and that was some real wise advice about our community here. Like everything pick what works for ya and leave the rest. I'm thinking of putting together a Gathering here so many of us on the site can do just that. Meet and hang out together. I'm shooting towrds Summer 2007 here in Woodstock. It will be pretty losse to keep any permit problems to zero. Woodstock is surrounded with ton's of great FREE camping sites and I would just use my place as a base information Center while it's all going down. If we plan it on the full moon we have a kick ass Full Moon Party that we can all meet at too. Will keep putting up information as time goes on. Keeping the Gathering here on my To Do list for 2007.
