How do i make sound come out of the headphones in my computer. I put the headphones in the headphone plug thingie and no sound is coming out. I got a spanish cd I want to hear. Thank you please help asap. Is there a control i need to set?
do you have sound that comes out of your speakers normally when the head phones aren't in? maybe the volume control is muted? you can get to that through the control panel -> sounds, speach, and audio devices
I clicked on sounds and multi media and the volume is on mute but it won't let me change it. The volume control and the thing to click on to change it is in faded text. What do i do now? This is so frustrating. Thank you for helping me
on the taskbar, expand it and see if you have an icon that say volume on it - it looks like a little speaker? that might work, but if not... what operating system are you running? so i can see if i can search for a reason why it wont' let you change it

Thank you Chris. I think somehow the audio got deleted on our computer because it will not let me hit the volume button for anything and the playback section is non-existent ):. I really miss my laptop. Maybe I'll try our lap top, I never use it because it's not hooked up to the internet but I bet it will work with my spanish cds. i think its just a fault in Windows ME...its a pretty terrible operating system... hopefully the laptop will work for you
important question do speakers work? is the headphones plugged into the headphone jack on the cd player itself or the soundcard on the back? i'm guessing you either have no soundcard or the drivers are fucked up if its plugged in the fron theres a lil dial on the cd (or buttons) for the volume if its in the back, open the device manager and check the drivers..
maybe you also dont' have "permission" to access that, like your not the administrator too, so not having permission means you can't change the computer settings...who knows
It's plugged into the headphone jack on the cd player. Wheres my sound card on the comp? I have not loaded windows disk 2 onto my comp-could that be it. I do not have power point on this computer as well because it is on that disk. The speakers do not work either
