Alright, I'm going through a long block period lately. It's been about 2 weeks and I've not wrote anything. What's the longest you've been with block and what do you do to try and overcome it?

hmm, block sure makes life frustrating, but i guess its a good time for reflection and time to grow. I have had mental blocks which last up to 3 months..not good. I just lacked inspiration. But then it will only take something as little as witnessing a misty morning or a weed breaking through a crack in the concrete for me to run around the corner and scribble a concept down before it fizzles into the day.
I listen to music and go somewhere with a view to gain inspiration. I like seeing the world splayed out before me.

When I feel frusturated writing music, or anything else, I usually go do something else. I'll go work on my art, actaully listen to some music, cook, go out, ect, becuase I find when I'm thinking about something else primarily, I'll start humming a melody, or running a phrase through my head, and that'll start it off, and it just kind of snowballs. I find I can't write when I'm trying to force myself to, and if I'm on a deadline for something, I do find a bit of doing something else can really help you focus on that in the end... Did that make any sense?
