Now is the time, I feel, that we are about to be immersed in the totalitarian effects of rightwing capitalism. Not a debate about anything - not a poll to see whether the people consent, but a massive concentration by government on policing and security service policies. They have used fear to force laws through which affect our freedom to contest the supremacy of the state - we have allowed fascism to enter by the back door - FORGET YOUR SQUABBLES WITH EACH OTHER ON THE LEFT I believe we need to be passing information and network resources to each other that will enable left wingers of all persuations to take what they will in the fight against this fascist regime. We have to take a brave decision to fight the state in any way possible no matter how small the contribution !
i aggree whole heartedly. constitutions were invented to protect people from the state. ours in the u.s. has been shreaded under the pretense of national interests and the common defense. it isn't forign invasion that it is the price of freedom to be ever vigilant against, but precisely what has happened in the u.s. on the pretentions of 'defense' and 'conservatism'. i have one word i feel is important about revolutions though, it is that for anything good to be accomplished, it is in the core values of society that 'revolution' needs to take place. the only thing killing people and tearing up crap can be counted on to accomplish is a lot of dead people and tore up crap. whatever anyone gets out of killing and destroying, i for one, would rather live in a world of big convoluted gardens with little people sized trains winding their way through them. simply to let nature heal itself as it will, once it gets the chance, we do need to get the pretentions and emotional attatchments we are coerced into by pseudo-conservatism out of the way of doing so. the only honest 'conservative' is a keeper of INDIGINOUS traditions. anything else that calls itself conservative is a load of fetted dingo's kidneys. =^^= .../\...
I don't think it would. At some level, people have to unite in order to have a political movement. Without at least some organization, even the Anarchists would collapse.
Of course Anarchists should unite. It's stupid to think anarchism means lack of organization or unity. In fact, it practically emphasizes those values.
Why do you feel qualified to write in forums. Has it ever occurred to you that your ignorance is so blinding to others that you make Mr Bean look like einstein.
She's asked a legitimate question. Had I been in a serious mood when writing this post, I would ask you to define "unity" and expound on the form that such unision vis-a-vis "right-wing" capitalism should take. But I'm not in a serious mood. I never am... That is why I read Das Kapital and continually ignore The Communist Manifesto. Still, I welcome playful agitation in bringing about the violent onrush of historical change. Emphasis on history. As a breath of fresh air, not as an excuse to whine ad infinitum.
So its just an excuse for you to pose with a book is it ? perhaps if you read something decent rather than all that Das Kapital bollocks that just explains some drivel that marx made up as a failed economist. try some real anarchy - you dont get more influential than this group http://wombles.org.uk/ maybe you will see the lack of a need to pose while reading dusty books and looking ever so slightly intellectual with such a disinterested air of boredom. Perhaps reading about anarchists instead of dead intellectuals will actually mean you become more intellectual than just making yourself look more intellectual you just sound like some ponce with a book and no ideas poser!
Remember, this thread was started with a plea for unity between anarchists and communists. I guess you gave the thread-starter your answer. As for your prescription to stop reading and start acting, I'd have to give you the old... they aren't mutually exclusive. Hopefully, alongside your activism you would have taken the time to read that which you presume to be able to criticize. Your site is interesting, but I am hardly tickled by a glob of vegetarianism, populism, environmentalism, and whatever else you wish to add to your leftist gumbo. I prefer dishes which allow me to taste individual ingredients. Aside from Karl Marx, I'd recommend Max Stirner to your diet as well. He's supposedly within your own anarchist tradition, so maybe the ideas in his dusty book will seem more palatable. If not, then we can simply accept the difference between your anti-intellectualism and my existentialism. P.S. Activism, not only books, can also be used as a pose.
