Well, I am officially supposed to be moving in with my girlfriend in just a little over a month now...and I could really use some advice. I'm not scared or anything, in fact, I can't wait. BUT, I am a bit nervous...I just want everything to go nice and for her to feel comfortable when she gets here. I know it's a major change for her, coming to a new place and all. I just want her to be happy.

Any advice, and suggestions would be really appreciated! Thanks guys! :)

Thanks Brian. I'm glad we're both here goin through the same things, maybe we can bounce ideas off each other and everything. I'm just nervous she'll be disappointed in me and feel let down. Like I'm not the man she thought I was.

My bf and I have lived together for 4 years now. It is great for the first three months then things got a little rocky because I had lived alone for so long and so did he. But if you are patient with each other things will work out great.

Like you, I will take any advice I can get.

I feel the same way.....like Kari will feel let down or disappointed, but that is normal, I think. We all experience cold feet and shit before taking important steps in life. I'm sure it will work out for all of us.

YEA, I hope so. Skittles, like how did you guys cope with the rough times, how did ya get through it and all that?? Just any ideas you have from your own experience that might make it easier when Topnotch and I eventually face those same situations with our ladies.

There was no disappointment just adjusting. It takes a while to adjust to all the little quirks and habits because no matter how much time you spend together there is nothing like living together.

Yea...like, I'm worried that she might not appreciate some of my little habits once she has to be around them more and more.

Just be patient with each other, and don't ever go to bed mad at each other. That is a big big no no.

Also be willing to adjust a little I don't mean change just be willing to compromise. Oh and clean the bathroom that was a big thing for me. I have to have the bathroom clean, not that we have a house it's not as big of a deal because I use the guest bath. :p

I am banking on my ability to remember to put the toilet seat down. That's about all I have going for me. lol

I have a severe inability to maintain a job and I think that will be the toughest part. At least, I hope that will be the toughest part.

Just after we moved in together my honey lost his job and didn't work for about 6 months. It was tough not having that extra money but we worked through it. He did all the work around the house so I could work extra hours because I was finishing my degree at the time. As long as we kept the balance at home we where able to keep things good. I do admit it was very frustrating and I was really moody but we are ok. Things got much better after the first 6 months.

work out chores, delegate stuff evenly. if both of you are working the same hours outside of the house you should be spending equal amounts of time working in the house, or adjust accordingly. this is the biggest problem i've had living with guys.

Sounds like a good way to test your devotion to each other. At least you guys know that you can do what needs to be done to make it work and you got it out of the way early.

Ya we have had a lot of those. My grandmother died 5 months after we moved in together and that the first time he met my extended family. Most families are quite like mine. Our summer family BBQ is over 250 people that only aunts uncles grandpa and first and second cousins. So the drive there i was teaching him all the names of people we would be spending a lot of time with.

    Much wisdom!
In any case, I have yet to successfully cohabitate so all I could offer is advice about what not to do!

Best of luck both to DS and TopNotch.
