Ok, I like a lot of stuff. Some favs include Beck, Phish, Sunvolt, CCR. I need some more material to downlaod. I'd like to hear some of your favorite bands, don't necessarily need to be hippy bands, anything that is good music will work

in my opinion, youd find LOTS of better music looking for stuff thats not on the radio, even of the same types of music you already like, but they may sound totally different.

I agree. Unfortunately I live in a smaller town with only mainstream music on the radio and NO independant music stores. That's why I'm turning to you amigo...Hook a brotha up yo

try the polyphonic spree, man. "#9 Light and Day" is like the trippiest song ever without being techno, hehe.

they are a band that adds symphonic instruments and a chorale ensemble. its great and very eclectic.

i download my cds now but i used to buy them at www.circuitcity.com . great prices and free shipping most of the time. I usually would check out the albums reviews. Most of the albums i bought were 4 or 5 stars. heres some of my favorite bands and albums by them.

Aphex Twin (selected ambient works 85-92 , ...i care because you do)
King Crimson (court of the crimson king, larks tongues in aspic)
    Soft Machine (vol. 2, third)
John Coltrane (a love supreme, ascension)
DJ Shadow (endtroducing, the private press)
    Can (Tago Mago, Ege Bamyasi)
Prefuse 73 (vocal studies and uprock naratives, one word extinguisher)
Boards of Canada (Music has the right to children)
Velvet Underground (velvet underground and nico, white light/white heat)
Talking Heads (more songs about buildings and food, fear of music)
    DJ Cam (mad blunted Jazz)
Eno (another green world, here come the warm jets)
    Genesis (foxtrot, nursery cryme)

if I think of some more ill add to this list. :H
