Do you expect Hippys to just lie around and agree with every statement made? Well, dear, they never have and never will. The entire Hippy Revolution is about being true to yourself and stating your opinions. There is NOTHING hypocritical about discussion and disagreement.

I'm sorry but I don't think that disscussion is slamming someone for something they believe in. Like saying "You eat meat? You are retarded and you will rot."

Now no one has said this. I was just stating an example. It's not the veggie board I see this on. It's a good precentage. i.e music, religion, veggie.

 

I agree with you on the hypocritical statement...EVERYONE is a hypocrite, and if the say they aren't, well, thats a hypocritical statement.
Everyone has two sides....a yin and yang, if you will. it is supposed to make us balanced, but there are those that have no idea about the other side of themselves. I try to keep balanced, but yes, I can be hypocritical at times. what matters if one recognizes that fact and makes a worthy effort in not being that way...in taking every side into consideration. I think that is what's missing in this world....

Sometimes you seem to be a d*ck! Your condescending posts are not appreciated! Why don't you try to respect peoples opinions more? I mean where is all the peace and love?

 

Well now that's a good point. Sometimes I am a d*ck. That's something I will try to work on.
Now in my defense I am only on here when I am at work. I work overnights and everyone gets a little grumpy when they have to stay awake all night and they are sober. Still though, that is no excuse and I will have to re apply myself so as to not appear to be flaming people or whatever.

 

Time for my 2 cents worth! Respect is the name of the game here....just like soaringeagle said. We can all agree to disagree or we can sit on the fence and see both sides of it and do nothing. We can be an activist for our own views or for anyone elses view that happens to coincide with our own. In short- we all have our own mind and opinions. You know what some people say opinions are like...everyone has one and they all stink. BUNK! everyone is entitled to there own opinion, and they are equally entitled to the respect of others for having that opinion...without worry of being put down or busted in the chops for it. It doesn't mean that we are all right 100% of the time. We all have our moments. But let me say this....I've been a hippy for a long long time. I was around in the 60's. I remember it. I know what the hippy movement was all about and it didn't mean we were all just going to be passive and let the man and anyone who had a mind to, crap on us or our ideals. Sometimes our ideals were all we had, but we agreed on one thing...Peace and Love was the key. John Lennon knew it..."Give Peace a Chance". That didn't just aply to war! It also applied to peace amongst all of us here on Mother Earth....vegg or meat eater alike. Lets all try to give the fighting part of being diverse a rest and remember the true philosophy of the Hippy movement.....Freedom and respect for that freedom from all of its sources.
