No pearly gates, 16 virgins, wads of money or a fat ass steak for thoose Ghandi fuckers. I mean... ...you don't get to reflect. You wont know you are dead. You wont think ''Ow shit, it's all gone black. It's just black'' because you will be dead. People always talk about the white light. Back in the day the TV's would do that shit. The leccy would go out and you see that white dot slowly fading. What if that's what the white light is? Because the TV don't do fuck all after that. In reguards to re-incarnation, whats the point? What's the point in living again if you don't remember your previous life? I can see why people turn to religion because that's a big blow. Death really is the end. I hope we do all have spirts, because I'd rather go to hell than my life just end.
There are alleged to be 8.5 million people who claim to have had an NDE. I heard about one myself when I was in my mid teens. My friends grandma even floated out of her hospital room and looked in on the lobby where two friends were waiting to see her. They were sent away, and the next day she told them she saw them. They scoffed, but she told them what they were wearing and then their skepticism was not so strong. I have been told similar things by others, who saw things they could not have seen from their beds, and I can't see what other answer is better than that they are being honest. Most people look at you like you're nuts when you say that stuff, so there is very little motivation to make it up... unless you like being laughed at. Hell.... Where do people who are in hell tell each other to go when they are angry? Well I'll be damned.... what is up with that saying? What if dead is dead? To me, that changes nothing. Why should it? I believe we live on, but I have been wrong before. If the Christians are right, and Buddha and Gandhi are in hell, I look forward to seeing them.
if there ain't there ain't. if there is, it probably still doesn't even remotely resemble the claims of ANY system of organized belief. at least not closely. it may though, resemble the kinds of place, circumstances, ..., we visit in our dreams. =^^= .../\...
Bleeping out of existance wouldn't be so bad. I mean, you wouldn't really know you didn't exist anymore. It would just happen.
I certainly hope there's something after...but I suppose there's not a whole hell of a lot we can do about it if there isn't. But I agree with above sentiments...I'd rather exist in hell, than simply not exist. I know that's the kind of personal ego-attachment Taoism and the like are against, but oh well.
Simply ceasing to exist 100% is a hard concept to get a grip on...even in the Buddhist "Void" there must be some sense of awareness.
Theres another life....I havent a clue what it will be like....but i'm looking foreeward to finding out....just like there was one before this one. Ok....you may attack me now !!
Erzebet, I really don't wanna attack anyone, I just wanna discuss. But, do you people who beleive in afterlife also beleive in an afterlife for other animals (such as apes, birds, cats or whatever)? If not, then what's to you the difference between animals and human?
It is about living in unconditional bliss in the here and now, regardless of what happens after we die. The fulfilment we all wish for happens here and now. If there is an afterlife, that bliss will not occur if we do not know how to create it here and now. And if there is no afterlife, then we want to know that bliss here and now because that's all there will be. Peace and love Jnanic
I believe in an afterlife, but I can't imagine what it will be like. I read an e-book recently called "The Navigator". The author discusses our "spirits" being nothing more than energy, and these bodies the vehicle for gaining experiences, which is how our spirits gain enlightenment. He compares our physical bodies with the "physical body" of "God", and the collective energy of humans as the "spirit" of "God". He points out that scientifically energy never dies, only changes form. Very interesting ideas. But, if this life is it, and then we die, well we won't know will we, therefore really nothing to dread.
We won't know about it. There is no afterlife. I don't believe we float about as ghosts constantly bumping into treasure chests.
enven if there isnt an after life, your energy dosnt just go away. Your body bocmes food much liek what you eat to stay alive. Every one is connectied in that way and we are all the same persone in a sense.
i have to agree with some people here - reality is a subjective experience, only known to the individual viewer.....death and "afterlife" would therefore be the same but when it comes down to it energy is neither created nor destroyed - of course we live on in some form, whether it's a blending with other energies to create something new, or to come back again with as much of our memories/identity intact as needed to continue to spread the Message of Love
I sort of believe in reincarnation but I don't think of a soul moving from one body to another, rather I think of an awarness fading out, then the next awarness that turns on could be called "your" awarness if you get my meaning. there is no-point to reincarnation, reincarnation is Absurd just like the rest of exsitance and God.
I wish an after life existed, however i do not believe an afterlife exists and i never will, it is simply too farfetched and absurd for me to grasp or understand why someone would think an afterlife is possible.
I think that after evolving into some awareness.. we shall recognize we do know both "pleasant" and "unpleasant" frorms ow being aware. shall god (or some sort of above all spirit) be the purest form of awareness, we have evolved only little to comprehend and paid a very high price.
