There has been much media attention to sexual predation and improprieties such as Mark Foley IM'ing 16 year old male pages in DC and pastor Haggart's homosexual hypocrisy. It all focuses on adults preying on minors. But what about the other way around? A minor can just as easily solicit an adult for sex, and can also falsely accuse the adult of pedophilia if the adult refuses. Example: Say a 15 year old boy asks me to have sex with him, and I refuse on grounds of age, it would be very easy for him to accuse me of soliciting him, and guess what? That would automatically make me the criminal, the sex offender who would have to register for life. But he would be legally entirely innocent. That's not right. Remember 15 year old Justin Berry? He was not so much a victim as he was a perpetrator, and entrepreneur who made hundreds of thousands of dollars from his exploits. That boy should have to register as a sex offender as well as the guys who paid him to do all those things. If it's wrong for adults to solicit minors, shouldn't it be just as wrong for minors to solicit adults? After all, it's just as legally wrong for a minor to ask an adult (unless it is his parent in some states) to buy him beer as it is for the adult to offer to buy beer for a minor.
I need to add this disclaimer to this posting: I am not defending pedophiles or their predatory lifestyles. What I am saying is that minors can be just as manipulative when it comes to sexual predation, and that minors should to be held just as accountable as adults would be for such misconduct.
I can definitely see what you're saying.. I think since they're under 18 though they're not held responsible for their actions. An adult is more likely stronger and bigger and could prevent anything from happening if s/he really tried though, maybe, in most situations..
The adults always in a position of power over the situation And if by some chance the adult was "raped" by a chil (very unlikely) the adult could tell the police and it could be sorted As for wrongful accusation, its always going to happen, in many situations, im afraid
can't you see a 16 year old or something raping a 30 year old? that would be a sexual offender. i am not sure about justin berry though
In Britain sex offenders under the age of 16 that seduce other children may be put in special care units that deal with the problem and re-educate them. They are taken out of society both for their own protection and others. If a minor solicits an older person it is the responsibility of the adult to refuse the offer. Any rational adult would consult the parents, police, or social services. I dont think theres an issue is there? A sex offender over the age of 16 is taken out of society for the protection of others. The law is quite categorical and people under the age of consent are not the perpetrator in sexual acts with adults It is the adult that has the responsibility to make their situation tennable In such cases the adult never consented and so is not liable and so the act is within the law on rape and the criminal would be guilty. In Britain a 14 year old boy raped a teacher and was tried for rape. rape is defined as non-consensual sex which statistics? . .
