Can someone help me out. I don't know alot about astrology and I would like to learn. All I really know is that I am a virgo because of my birthdate. I don't know the difference between star sign or sun sign. Any information about the differences would be helpful.

Stars form constellations right? You know the astronomy. Well a sun sign is the constellation that is behind the sun at your birth. The constellation is the sign; ie. the Taurus is a constellation in the sky. If your natal sun was in front of that constellation at birth, your called a Taurus. All the planets in the solar system are treated the same way; plus the moon and some asteroids.
I know the basics and I know astomnomy pretty well. Also I would like to thank everyone for all the info so far. I am learning alot.
