What do people think of blackspots? I'm always kind of wary of anti-corporations, you get the feeling they're just trying to appeal to a specific market, but everything i've read is very laudatory. I'm thinking of getting a pair, anyone know any reason why i shouldn't (apart form expense, which is a big one).

They're great shoes. I have a pair of the first version & my boyfriend has the "unswoosher" - the high-top one. They're made from hemp, they're vegan, they're sweatshop-free... and Adbusters is an awesome organization as well. The extra expense is well worth it since it supports a good cause. I'd recommend getting the first version (low-top) - those seem to hold up a lot better than the high-top variety. :)

    Sorry, adbusters is trite.

Its a good concept without any substance.

Theyre spots that are back - I usually get them infront of my eyes if I look at the sun for more than a couple of seconds - sometimes if I look at a lightbulb.
Blackspots are also places where a lot of accidents occur - sometimes photographers lurk around there to get great video on Youtube.
I like the black spots you can get on paper when you make inkpen blots

How long did the high-top ones last? I'd kind of prefer them i think

My bf still has the high-tops, but he's had to take them to be repaired once. The soles started coming off on the edges and the hemp fabric was ripping above his toe. This was after about 6 or 8 months of constant wear (and he's very active). He got them when they just came out, so they might be a little sturdier now that they've been making them for a while. I suggest getting some sort of insole if you go with those - there is no arch support or much padding inside for your feet.

Those look cool-I'd buy them [If I had any $$$ T_T]
the material looks kind of crappy though, but the bottoms look good.

Hemp is durable, but feels like burlap. I prefer my good old american made Wal-mart brand shoes. *hugs generic suade*
