How will a id card track your every move? Does the card have a hidden camera? I think Id cards will help stamp out illegal aliens. This country has too many immigrants who should not be here. This is because they only come to look for a better life and not actually in danger in their own country. It is like me thinking how lovely it would be to live in Florida and then hiding away in a box of cabbages and getting into florida. britain has not got a nuclear war yet.
What the fuck is wrong with them wanting a better life? what the hell does country mean - the borders will have completely changed in 500 years and humans will be exactly the same, why do we get to say fuck off don't come to my country? I don't own this place, no-one does, or should. It's just land man. Go to Florida if you want man.
Supposing you were unemployed. Yes it will happen one day in this day and age. Imagine if we suddenly opened the floodgates for every developed country to come into Britain. a)Britain would capsize b)they would take all the jobs.(Has been proven already and we just let Romania into the Union. Now look what has happened. Still unemployed and so are three million genuine british citizens. I say, lets extracate Britain from the EU, bring in ID cards and whilst they are at it, lets build a massive wall.
An ID card will not help you get a job, getting off ones backside is the only way. So if people who travel hundreds if not thousands of miles can find a job why can't you, who only lives down the road ?
Well said Dappy, people generally only travel thousands of miles to live in a foreign land if they can actually find work, meaning there are plenty of jobs available. We have a huge employment shortage both in skilled professions and in the kinds of menial jobs people just don't want to do. They come here, they take the jobs we don't want or can't do, they contribute to the economy, they pay for our pensions and our jobseekers allowance, I don't know, bloody parasites! There's a strong economic case for having a total open border policy, immigration is a wonderful thing for our country
I sometimes feel like John, but I think that we've been blinkered by the media to think this way... I don't think the immigrants, or the illegal aliens, are the issue that this country has turned into a calamity. It is the shitty politicians, pencil pushers, fat cats, aristocrats and every other bloodsucker that feeds off our sweat and blood. I've lived long enough to maybe look at things a bit more cynical, but when has any government in the UK done something that is actually for the benefit of its people? We've seen the capital's transport system!!! It's getting closer to Dante's inferno every day (and WE are going to host the Olympics?!?). Oh, but TfL are very good when it comes to posters and advertising of how GOOD they are. Shame they can't also program our brains so that our eyes won't register just HOW shit things actually are! We've seen price of property escalate out of proportion and stupid keyworker schemes and sly 5 X salary mortgage schemes that are nothing short of criminal binding contracts and in a way forcing people into a lifetime of exploitation. We had pomises of redevelopment of deprived and high crime, low education areas such as Peckham and Walworth... the result nothing. Promises of an east west rail line across the city... nothing happened and yet the fares just keep rising. And now that the government realize that they can't raise enough tax revenue through the sale of tobacco and that the NHS bill for the treatment of lung disorders and cancer supercedes the income of cigarette duty, plus th influx of cheap snouts from across the border, suddenly our caring government has become concerned about our health. At the same time this highly concerned government has found a new source of revenue in the form of internet gambling! And while the US has clamped down on these sites, the UK seeks to turn an already strained society into a nation of gambling addicts. Going by this record, even if it IS long winded, then staying on the subject of gambling, what are the odds that the government want to bring in the ID cards for our own good? You will all have your oppinions on this, or maybe not, but I know what MINE is. It is not to control Johny Foreigner -- that's for sure. It's to control YOU and your FAMILIES! Having realized that the majority still DO NOT want this hideous invasion of our privacy in what could be the beginning of a totalitarian government, well before you laugh, think about the following: Having realized that they couldn't push this through, they've now got the police electronic fingerprinting you as they stop you. That all goes on record, so without having commited a crime you will now already be in the police framework. Some schools are already building a fingerprint database too of their students!!! Makes an interesting thought, because that file will grow as each politician in power will want to have more and more data on people, such as which political party they support, or if they are a member of a union, or even if they contribute to an animal charity. Basically a database that will ensure that not only you would not have a private life any more, but you would also live in constant fear of what to do next and whether you'll get arrested for it. Still think ID cards are a good idea? Well, you might think, I haven't done anything wrong. Why should I be afraid? And indeed you shouldn't, as long as the government has reason to believe you are on their side and that you are a good slave. If not, all it would take is someone to use the details on your database to frame you, and within a minute Osama Bin Ladden will seem like Mother Theresa next to you.
John, it is completely unproven that they take all our jobs, in fact they improve employment. I'll post when i have more time.
Part of my mother's family came to the USA from France & part of my dad's family came here fron Ireland. The other part of both families are Native American so I guess part of my family was already here to meet them. Yrs ago the USA was known as the "great american melting pot". The history of this country & alot of our families were made from people looking for a better life. I use an expired AZ driver's license as my ID card everywhere I travel too. I ain't updating it everytime I move either. Hell according to the law I should have updated my license 6 times this year. Sorry but my where abouts are not the governments business.
