there should be stickies here

I think there should be some stickies in the computer forum, I think the thread on internet child safety contains such good information that it should be a sticky, does anyone agree, as it seems to get a lot of viewers even though relatively few posters and the info contained in it is of such great value to parents and the page at dmoz is crammed with a lot of quality links

I wonder who the forum moderator is, perhaps I could suggest it ?

 

pm the moderator. Underneath all the posts there's that long bar, right hand corner has a title of MODERATOR and underneath is the mod's name (and a link that should take you to his profile where you can then pm him)

in the main forum, below the posts, it says something like "display options" and within that bar is the MODERATOR header

i think that "sticky's" should only outline what the main direction of the forum/board is. maybe a FAQ page would be nice that contains links to many common problems like, "how can i make my wireless better?" and "what are some good computer security measures?"

it would also be nice to have 1 or 2 polls that people can vote on. maybe for 'operating systems' and also 'Intel vs AMD vs Apple'

these ideas would atract all types of people. the computer geniuses would like the polls and the less computer inclined would like the FAQ. we need both types of people. honestly, i think that the child saftey thing is important but is not sticky material. that is deffinately something good to include in a FAQ.
