this past weekend, I did a two night run at Mulley's in North Vancouver as Live Sound engineer for Far From Saints. the two shows were epic and the sound was amazing. not to blow my own horn, but WOOO! it was good. the mix, the interaction between me and the band, with sound adjustments, was like a beautiful dance. the perfect amount of reverb and delay rises to accent the tunes was just perfect. a great night....good crowd....good show....
I have a saying that I tell all the soundmen who run our gigs, we play instruments, you play the band! The guys with the guitars can only do so much, and its up to the soundmen to make it listenable. On the flipside, the soundman can press the "suck button" and noone will sound right all nite. So it pays to be nice to the soundman, and have one who knows what hes doing but hasnt been at it so long hes deaf!
nice, its good to know at least one sound guy does a good job out there seems like everyshow i go to is infected by sound problems and i have to stand at one specific stop to get the best sound -_-
