Well it started as an online name I used to obtain drugs that could be illegal in the future. Since then it has become a little more sophisticated as I have decided on a middle and last name. It was just a fun little thing I did until I got a call on my phone from a wholesale distributor that I was interested in doing business with. They asked for "James" and it took a second to hit me but I played right into it and it felt really good. It was like I looked at my life from a whole different perspective and I was no longer completly bored with my seemingly purposeless existence. I was no longer me and it was awesome. My life dissapeared for a second and my reality became uncertain, in the sense that "James", being a different person, had a different reality and I was finally free from my lame being and felt like there was actually hope instead of my usual annoyed melancholy. Anyone else had an experience like this? I'm thinking about experimenting with it in different situations. Any suggestions?

I think that the thing you're doing right now is soooo wrong. It's ok to change your life, and it's ok even to start everything over, but you are playing with other peoples lifes! Imagine how would you feel if someone does the same thing to you!?

Using another name does not change your reality. You are just answering to something else. Drop the fantasy and make your "real" life better if it is bothering you.

I think that's a really neat way to evoke change in your life.... but you're gonna have to decide if you really want to become this persona or if it's just play... if it's just play, you'll have to severely limit where this person exists so they don't overlap with your 'regular' life all that much

I've been tempted to start over, to use my first name instead of my middle name and sort of recreate myself from there. Haven't actually done it, but, temptation

Yeah, I mean as long as it's done in moderation. Obviously nothing is changing except my viewpoint. U are right though I'm working on fixing this life but it's fun to pretend and maybe by analyzing the way I act pretending to be James will open up some psychological soft spots thereby giving me further access to information that will be usefull in making this life better. The only problem is I think it might require more and more believable situations for the feeling to have the same psychic effect on me. What is James possible of ? What am I possible of ?

You should pick up the book "How to obtain a second identity and why you would want to" from loompanics. It's the quentisental guide on how to do what you're talking about.
