torrents are great. which client did ya download? i forget which one i have, but its pretty fast and doesn't use too much computer resources. i usually find what i need with it
I dont know what Bullguard is. Bittorrent is a p2p program but it searchs the whole web, not it's database or something...... seems like there is a good bit on it and I heard its fast and safe but I find some things confusing about it. I was also wondering if you can do advanced searches.
its different software....i have UTorrent...Azureus and BitComet are full featured clients that are pretty popular, wheres as Utorrent operates using little computer resources. they all pretty much do the same thing - DL a torrent, open it and have it ready to play
So I have to download one of them also? I was kinda wondering why this one Pink Floyd album I downloaded wont play....
from the beginning, what did you download first? and from where? and then the other steps you did before asking this question
I started here http://www.bittorrent.com/download.html and downloaded windows latest release. Went through the downloading steps, created an account and started searching.
you should be able to play it from what i just read. "bittorrent" is the client you downloaded, so it should play once you open the pink floyd file...
LOL@DS..... Okay Fitzy...thanks... So it SHOULD play from there. That's good. It wont though. Nor in windows Media... may be cause my computer wont read RAR files. I made this thread here http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=207772
i replied to that thread....you RAR files are like ZIP files. there archived. they need to be unarchived to play the contents
find and download winrar to open up rar files (I think that's the name of it at least) torrentz.com is the site I use for my utorrent program dealio but Fitzy you said utorrent is supposed to use up few computer resources? The thing is a fucking bandwidth hog, I can't do anything internet-related while I have it running... how do I change it so it's less of a hog?
i have no clue ihmurria, mine doesnt clog up the bandwidth....probably fiddle around with the setttings
Wikipedia has some pretty good info regarding bittorrent and downloading and using the files. Do a search at wikipedia.org for bittorrent, then check out section 1.2.
