Hello, I've been intrested in going to Zimbabwe to live for a few months next Summer. After I complete some exams and when the Summer starts I want to do something I want to do, before comitting myself to the British Army. I was looking at joining a Conservation for Lion Breeding, but I obviously need to do alot of research about the country before going ahead with it. Could someone tell me some things regarding the country, and also if they think that it's a good idea. Here's a link to the Conservation I want to join. Here.
zimbabwe's a very dangerous place at the moment, if you were to go there, i think lion conservation would be the least of your worries my advice is to pick another country. botswana's pretty peaceful, try there
We were in Zimbabwe last July for just a day, and we felt pretty safe- in the Victoria Falls area. However, for an extended stay, I'd be careful.
mm go somewhere else, somewhere peaceful... come to australia, i'm doing conservation here next year seriously, trying to look after land that's stained with blood is pointless, wait until the trouble's cleared up. here's an analogy for you you don't plant flowers when it's raining do you? wait until the sun's out! (oh, i may not have mentioned, but like rhodesian reject, i'm also zimbabwean...so i do know what i'm talking about ) good luck! and let us know what you decide to do!
zimbabwe is quite unstable right now. but there are many gorgeous african countries where you could get involved with something. uganda is quite a peaceful place ( the north has alot of rebel activity however) and malawi from the time i spent there is one of the nicest places I have been too. wherever you go, doa little research on the country first
