Hey I've been a Hanson fan (or a fanson as we call it) since 1997 , yea they're were the little teenagers with long blond hair sininging "MMMBop" but that was almost a decade ago and since then things have changed for the band. In 2000 they relased an album by IDJ (Island Def Jam) and because it was not promoted the right way it was considerd a flop compared to their debut 97' album "Middle of Nowhere". In 2001 after Hanson had toured the world on their own funds because IDJ would not pay for their tour they started their next album which in the begining was turning out to look like a car wreck waiting to happen. In 3 years Hanson recorded over 80 songs and wrote over 130 and then finanly they were fed up and parted ways with IDJ. Then they created their own indie label titled "3cg " records which reprersents their first practice space in a 3 car garage. On April 20,2004 they relased their debut Indie album off of their own 3cg label tiltled 'Underneath". "Underneath" debuted @ the #1 spot on Billboards Independent music charts. The 3 year struggle and battle with former label IDJ and their triumphant return as indie artists is documented in a compelling documenteray called "Strong Enough To Break " Which is yet to be relasead but has been shown around College campusos and Indie film festivals. Check out Hanson's official page and hear some of their new music. And please give these one time former "MMMbopers" another chance! And open your mind! http://www.Hanson.net
Wow, I used to like them when I was 6 or 7 maybe 8. I hadn't even thought about them in the longest time. That's cool that they toured and stuff. Wouldn't it be cool if they became as famous as the Beatles (wow I'm gunna get shit for bringing the beatles into this) and then broke up and then reunited a year later then one of them got shot and everyone was sad and the oldest one became and alchoholic (no he didn't die) and the other remaining one tried to make a solo career for himself, but that didn't work out. He eventually is busted for weed and has to do like a million charity concerts, he's on the rise again, but gets busted again. That older one, he's in rehab and they begin performing together, but it's just not the same because that other one's not there. Then that older one gets cancer, it's a long fight, but he lives. The other one disappeared in the countryside for a while doing all sorts of mean things to his wife and dogs (has like 40 dogs) He's eventually shot by police in Detriot because they thought he had a grenade (he was eating a pear) and we're all sad. That older one he's all bummed and does a big concert and everyone's there, like Paul McCartney, who had become good friends with that older one mostly for publicity, and Elton John's there even though by then he's like a million years old, the Rolling Stones are there, of course, and Michael Jackson and a few other people, who I don't know who they'd be. But there's this whole big thing for him and people think he faked his death. Twenty something years later the older one dies of heart failure. The one who got shot by cops's son tries to capitalize on his father and uncles' success, but does so to the dismay of hardcore fans, xhansonloverx, you get to be the leader of the hardcore fans. You riot and destroy his home, he disappears and.....well, no one knows, point is he continued to collect an insane amount of money and produced about 40 illegitemit children, one being Skylar Smith, who was the only one to realize who his father and grandfather was. He was a good musician in his own right and became great even before the whole world knew of his herritage. In the end Skylar got his father's fortune and rights over Hanson music etc. and did a lot of good to make harcore Hanson fans happy. The End.
I love hanson, have since they started, i have to say im really impressed with the music they're making now. I feel sorry for those who can't get over the whole 'mmbop' phase to give them a chance.
and of course, the god of hats is brushed off like a peice of lint from your crisp but cheap designer buisness suit. Do you think the God of Hats will take this lieing down?! ANY-ways, God of Hats, *I* thought it was kind of funny. P.S. XhansonloverX is a desperate marketting rep doing some "guerilla advertising" on-line don't be fooled by the five or six pseudo-posts s/he's started to cover up s/his wiley tracks!
NO I WILL NOT TAKE THIS LIEING DOWN! Clearly I'm a peice of lint from a turned inside out jean pocket worn by your father-raping cousin Phil, oh wait, that's my cousin, not yours.
though I'm a bit embarrassed 2 admit it lol. I was 15 going on 16 then. Man, I can't believe it's been nearly 10 yrs.! Anyway, I still have all their albums & put them onn whenever I'm feeling nestolgic. Aulthough I'm happy for them, I wish they'd concentrate a bit more on making music again rather than making babies. I hope they come out w/something new soon.
NGL...I was in the 5th grade when hanson's first album "middle of nowhere" was released, and I loved it! I still like the songs, and even listen to them once in a while! "Fly with wings of an eagle, ride along with the wind, no matter how high, I'll be thinking of you the whole time!" lol. I'm 21 and I still remember!
Yes, I was caught several times listening to MIddle of Nowhere in my discman years ago. I tried to defend them, but my friends laughed at me.
