I've heard of sole-less shoes, but...

I want to have shoes that have soles made out of something natural, like thick hemp or rope, without a top on them. The closest thing is thong sandals...but I don't want any constriction like that. The only way shoes like that would be able to work is if you glued them to your feet (which is ridiculous) so I was looking for some suggestions on how to make them stay without using glue :p or lots of visable material on the top. Any thoughts?

well if that's what you really want, probably best to get hold of materials yourself and have a go at making them, because it seems like a rather unusual request to me.

Surely the simplest solution would be to go barefoot, but if you have to, perhaps you could take the soles of a pair of flip flops and then tie them to your feet with a couple of thin pieces of rope which hold them a bit more securely.

I still reckon you're better off barefoot though :)

lol.. Yeah, I could go barefoot but I have sensitive feet; thats the problem. I just like the look of barefeet..just not the discomfort that goes along with them. :p

    Hi
I have posted earlier that I make sole-free shoes. I believe that what you are asking for would be very simple to create. I remove the soles from every day shoes, so it should be very easy to do the opposite, make a shoe-free sole, lol.

We all have sensitive feet. That's what makes it fun. But going barefoot increases your skin's resilience, without actually losing any sensitivity. If you ease into it gently, start with just short walks in moderate weather, and build it up slowly then you might find yourself enjoying it as well.

Maybe you should bring carpet squares everywhere you go. Like say you have two squares. You throw one down, step on it, then pick up the last one you were standing on and throw it where you want to go. You still get to go barefoot, but you don't have to step on anything painful.
