how is it that a infant can be a atheist or Agnostic at birth? they are totaly unaware of religion all together. so they would be religious non-conformer's untill the point at witch some media influince or parent decides to cram some thoughtless religion down there throat........
exactly - if you had no concept of a god you would not believe in a god so would under certain conditions be athiest or under some agnostic - babies dont have any preconception of the idea of god till they are infoirmed of one so they naturally act as though there isnt one - when was the last time you saw a 6mth old baby praying ?
They will develop a religion regardless. Look at Native Americans. They believed in a "Great Spirit" long before they had any European influences.
well looks like i posted to the wrong shit. sorry. would edit it but my computer is turning all selective memory on me. just pay no attention to this blubbering idiot.
Well, it's human nature to want to understand everything, to know more. It's one of the most basic of the basic instincts humans have, right next to survival and reproduction. When we can't figure something out, it drives us crazy. So we need an answer, and that's where our concept for a God or a "higher power' came from. We made it up. See, we take the Christian religion almost directly from the Bible, you know? But who wrote the Bible? People who were dedicated to devoting their life to one man, Christ. You know who else had followers that few and that devoted? Charles Manson. There are extremely striking similarities between the two, when you really think about it. See, please please please don't be offended at what I just said. I realize I just directly related Christ to a mass murderer. It's just a possibility, you know? It's IMPOSSIBLE to prove God real or unreal, you know? Totally impossible. No way. That's where faith comes in. The utmost belief in something we know nothing about. We have no reason to believe in God. None whatsoever. The only thing that provokes such thought, is wonder. We don't know something, and we need to attribute that to something. It's comforting. Look at the ancient Romans and Greeks. They didn't know why the sun came up every morning. That bugged them, so they came up with Apollo (I think it was Apollo, correct me if I'm wrong), who in a chariot dragged the sun across the sky at all times. There are just so many possibilities. Up until the age of six, it is impossible for one to determine fantasy from reality. So there is absolutely nothing that can influence a mind that young up until that point. That's just a theory made by some crazy sociologist, you know? I can't remember his name. Anyways, I'm really dragging this out, I'm sorry. Tell me what you think, though. By the way, if you're wondering, I'm an Atheist. Peace and love ------Earth Child
ya but i recently realized that theres absolutely no proof that there isn't a god. All we possibly know about anything is what people have found and been able to tell others. There might be several astral universes, or unlimited possibilities of what there is that we have no idea about. Also, i'm pretty sure we have it wrong, because whats the possibilies we got it right, and of all the religions there have been in our world and possible other worlds, why would anybody's be the right one. I'm not really sure if i stayed on topic but i was kinda just replying to the last one.
