or maybe not. but it pays well, you get full benefits and all the allowances and crap, and the educational funding part too. $(*#!

 

it doesn't pay that well

 

have fun - the majority of my friends are joining, most will be officers in may

1 isn't going to be an officer, instead, he's gonna enlist attempt to make SEALS

 

It -tells- you it does all those things. A signifigant number of those in it never get much more than a few murders on their conscience and a few wasted years of their life.

and i think with all the psychology books and such i've read i could prolly do the insane trip too

i have all sorts of ways to avoid the army
if need be, i'll run to an island and hide in a cave or something...mind you that'd be kinda fun even without the army

 

anyone readin this who joined not too long ago? hows it working for you?

 

if they recently joined the military, they were most likely killed today or yesterday in Iraq

I wouldnt suggest joining the military to anyone. Yes I back our soldiers 100%, but would i really want my kids joining... OH HELL NO! badk enough my nephew is in it.

The airforce academy recently contacted my daughter to play volleyball. So it was like this, play volleyball or us for four years, then give us five. She didnt go for it.

 

i just dont' get why people would come to this site - of all sites out there - to talk about joining the military

 

my son gets out in Feb 2007

 

my little sis just joined up. she's freezing her ass of in missouri getting her heavy equipment operator training. she wants to rebuild all the shit we blew up. both my brothers served, one as a medic and one as a fireman. as well as both my fathers and 90% of the males in my family. my stepsister just made captain, and my cousin got back from iraq in april. he's the one who kinda got fucked up with the battle stress, i think. he's kinda edgy now.

 

The pic I posted above was taken while my son was in Iraq. He is now in Colorado Springs,CO. My brother has been in the USAF for 21 years and he is also stationed in Colorado Springs.
My younger son finished basic training in Oct and is in TX now.
Lucky me, I would never pass the physical so I don't have to worry about going in.

 

fuck that.. i prefer to have my freedom to do whatever i want

 

and my sons would ask you "how do u think u got that freedom?"

 

I seriously thought about joining the navy. But my dad told me he would kick my ass after my mother's turn if I did.
