Umphrey's Mcgee in Michigan

Well its not till March, butt I've been awaiting a good show to hit Michigan for awhile, Umphrey's will be playing at the orbit room in Grand Rapids on March 15, and at Clutch Cargo, in Pontiac on the 16th. If your hitting up either or these shows leave a post. If you know of any other good shows in Michigan post it on here, I'm always looking for good shows, and open to suggestions.

 

whats so special about these guys? they just havent grown on me i guess. Ive given them a few chances, but im always dissapointed. I always expect more. I hear alot of great things from people, but not from the band. any songs or shows i should look into?

I love UM. I just saw them last week at nokia theatre in NYC and they put on another mind blowing show. I personally just love the Umphreys experience. Here are two great shows that I have attended that you can download or stream

On the first one the Divisions (possibly Umphreys best song) encoure is superb! listen to it now, really, its wild. The opener Bridgeless is a great song and this is one of the best Bridgelesses I have have heard. Others from that show to check out are morning song, got your milk (right here), anchor drops, and plunger.

On the second show (the one I just saw) it's all amazing. the first jajaunk, wife soup>jimmy stewart>wife soup and ringo are all great. others are partyin peeps, white mans moccasins, ophilia (band cover), and andys last beer.

Jimmy stewart for those who don't know is when the band just jams on stage. they will usually talk to each other about some chord progressions or just a key to jam in. the jimmy stewarts can really go places. Those people who say that Umphreys just noodles are either sadly sadly mistaken or have no idea what they are talking about. Im not saying that UM is for every one cause they're not, but no one can deny that this band can jam! They can really devolp a jam and bring it full circle. Just listen the thw wife soup>jimmy stewart>wife soup and the ringo.
