I for one love Christmas. Enjoying a steaming cup of hot chocolate next to the fireplace on a cold Christmas morning. Happy kids playing and giggling. Wearing pajamas until noon and then getting dressed to see your family for brunch. To me, it's the best day of the year.
you can do/see all that stuff everyday of the year if you wanted. i dont mind christmas.. i was just pointing it out.
I've tried, but that hasn't really panned out too well. Too many commitments to meet throughout the year. It's hard to get 40 family members together for brunch on any given Saturday.
You know... I used to love Christmas for similar reasons...espiecially if it would actually SNOW on Christmas (sigh) but the way it is with the family this year.... I would really love to skip it. What can I say... Im Miss Scrooge this year.
i think i'm going to like christmas this year, for the first time since i was 8. we're not going anywhere!! we're not driving anywhere to meet family, it's just gonna be us.
Those kind of Christmases are nice too. That's what we always did growing up since we lived really far away from my parents' siblings.
yea, this christmas should be fun - having family from texas come up and stay with us. yea, a house with 6 people, includinga 9 month old baby + a family of 6 should be really fun haha
I agree with you 100% Eric! I love Christmas and I still look forward to it with as much anticipation as I did when I was a little kid. Now I love it even more actually because it means that all my finals are done with and I have a whole month of freedom.
i have a problem. dave is the best gift-guesser in the world. so this year my mom bought him a couple really awesome hawaiian shirts. i rolled them up and stuffed them into giftwrap tubes and wrapped them. i put them under the tree, and dave grabbed them and said, very excited "they're fatheads! one's jerry rice, the other is....brett favre." i thought to myself "fuck. now he expects them to be fatheads and he's really excited about it. now the super cool hawaiian shirts aren't going to be as fun to open now." on the upside, fathead.com is having a buy one, get one free sale. to bad i don't have enough to buy one. fucker.
It's hard to tell who he meant. Although I am both youthful and enthusiastic. Maybe a little too enthusiastic. You were pretty enthusiastic about those shirts though...
well, who wouldn't be? they're hawaiian shirts!!! i'm gonna get dave a tiki cocktail cup to use as a coffee cup on casual fridays, and a swizzle stick umbrella. or maybe a coconut coffee mug.
complicated people like us just ARE. we try to simplify, but it's not possible. we'll just carry on buttering each other up and enjoying it.
