I dont know why i didnt post this earlier, but anyway... Over the summer my school installed a closed circut tv system that covers nearly every hallway and records the video digitally. At first we were kinda upset about it, but nowadays we dont even realize it anymore. Besides, the footage is only really used if something happens and they need to see exactly what happened. I think the only camera they have constantly up on a monitor is the one for the front door of the school (the only unlocked door after school begins). So my question for you is, how would you react if they installed cameras in your school? or what do you think of them if you have them? or if your not in school, what would you think anyway?
We had them from the time I was in junior high. They're still up as far as I know, and my graduating class was 60 people, if that gives you any clue just how small of a school it was. I was going through a real rebellious stage when they installed them, so I hated them at first, then I learned to have fun with them in high school. My friends and I would tease the cameras all sexy-like, it was awesome. We also figured out the angles every camera was pointed at and we'd plan around them to do things we didn't want the cameras to see (make out, trade homework, etc.). Yeah...I miss high school now...*sniffle*
So my question for you is, how would you react if they installed cameras in your school? They need them, with all the punk ass kids who think they have the world by the ass, the cameras will help habd then there ass.
I was the project manager for the design and install for evey school in New York City to be wired this way. It's a great way to control violence in schools but has to watched so it is not ABUSED by the powers to be. Get used to it since when you go off to work your job will also be that way too. Most towns now are also putting them in so we are about to enter an era where we will be in movies where we are all the time. Good reason to look LOL good all the time.
I would be a little weirded out, personally. I think our high school had cameras, truth be told, but they were all aimed at the doors. My university doesn't insofar as I'm aware (aside from a few sensitive areas)... I dunno. It's a big fucking campus, putting cameras everywhere would be expensive. But it would've caught the rapist a couple years back who assaulted a woman in one of the washrooms and broke her arm in three places it's a balance. I don't have anythign to hide, but it would be disconcerting
The amount of money these people have to throw around never ceases to amaze me ! Money is empowerment.
