So let's say you've won or been given from $6500 of "free" money from winning first prize in a writing contest, and through scholarships. The scholarships are given to you to support your education however they do not restrict how you spend it and you can spend it outside of school to pay rent and other things. Let's say you have your tuition taken cared of already (via entrance/full scholarship and/or some of your savings). What would you do with this new money?
I would remodel a rainbow kitchen bus, I would finish paying for school, (its not that much), I would buy CV radios for all bus kitchens, Kitchen supplys, an whatever I dont spend, Ill put it in the magic hat..
Tuition is taken care of already (I'm assuming that includes all fees). Priorities: 1. Books (those get friggin expensive and aren't covered by all scholarships!) 2. Rent & utilities 3. Food 4. Professional looking clothing 5. Travel to academic conferences relevant to my area of interest 6. New low-mileage used car that gets much better gas mileage (I live off campus and must commute to school, so that's a valid school-related expense!).
You could always switch from crappy beer like Busch to something a little tastier, and maybe from cases to thirty-packs as well.
Grow the ganja. save yourself money and going through dangerous illegal blackmarket people. Onward and Upward Ho!!!!!!
Books Transport (I bus everywhere, 1 term buspass is about $200) Moving out... love my mom but I miss having my own place, therefore also utilities above and beyond what I currently pay Entertainment fund, ie money for teh bar, movies, eating at restaurants, etc. New desktop computer and get my old laptop fixed so I can actually use it as a laptop oh and I'd quit my job
Screw education, I would go travelling if I had that money. The sensible thing would be to save it and use it to pay the rent, but.. blaaahh. I need a change of scenery anyway.
