    UMMMMM.. ILOVEYOU
and I love this thread.. I am a frisbee nut.. kinda like a labrador retriever...

I spent years playing on the beach nearly every day in Santa Barbara...

I am dedicated to the 175gram disc... LONG monster throws with huge HOOKS around trees and other objects...

I have also enjoyed many nice sessions in Santa Cruz and ON campus at UC BERKELEY (my currect home turf)

    iloveyou

BUT nothing beats the beach and frisbee...

    where do you all play?

theres no beach close to where i live :( well there is the lake, sometimes we play there but the beach is pretty rocky so its no good. those a few parks i dig for frisbee. you can't beat good friends, a beautiful day, good weed and a frisbee.

Well Mr. Garden Knowm, I don't know much about the Santa Barbara beaches, but if you are ever in or near Surrey, BC I could always use another frisbee buddy!

nobody can deny beach frisbee, even ocean frisbee, wen its too hot to continue playing on the beach....i love walking up and down the beach with a frisbee and getting people to play...i really prefer a nice big field though, with soft damp dirt, i like the traction, but sometimes it hurts to do a face plant if the dirt is too hard...o man, im starting to tear up a lil, i played so much frisbee this summer

I watched something on tv the other day, talking about how big pot was becoming in the 70's. It showed a group of people in a huge cirlce tossing a frisbee back and forth. But the strange part was that each person would hold on to the disk for a lil while.....holding it up to their face. Then each person would pull something from their pocket and put it into the frisbee, before they tossed it to the next person. Only later they showed the pipe that was built in the disk.......each person would add their smoke to the enclosed bowl and pass it across the field for the next person to toke. One of the coolest damn things I have ever seen. I'm in the process of building such a contraption. PEACE

Om being an x-Ultimate player I need to chime in here. Frisbee is not the name of the thing that you throw back and forth. That's actually a disc. Frisbee is just a brand. It's kinda like calling all cars honda's. I am not all hung up on it and actually use the word frisbee whenever I am discussing throwing a disc back and forth. Now for something less useless:

The correct weight for a "frisbee" is 185 grams. Don't get me wrong a 175g is still a "frisbee". But a 185, now that's the real deal. Also, don't buy Whamo...look for the discraft brand name. They make damn fine "frisbee's". :)

ahhhhh this is like a black guy starting a thread about how much he loves fried chicken.

you're a token hippy - we know you like frisbee.

although i've always found it a poor substitute for a football.
