pretty much my whole life ive seen these things but never really bothered thinking about them. lately though, theyve been getting more intense, so i have to question. ok, they look like tubes connected by circles and the bend in all sorts of ways. but sometimes they are really hard to look at because its like they are on my eye. when i move my eye, they move exactly accordigly. once i thought i could actually see germs or something but they dont really look like something youd see under a microscope. anyone know what im talking about?

Protein floating around in your eyeball I believe. I have the same condition. Sort of looks like dust floating around on the surface of your eye, but my GP told me it is protein and that if it gets distracting they can perform an operation to remove them.

I've noticed that. I see one shape occasionally, but it doesn't move around. It stays fixed in one spot on my vision, and it always looks exactly the same. It lasts for a couple minutes usually and I notice it every few weeks at the least.

They're basically left over capillaries that had no use from your fetal days. These exist throughout your body, I believe, but the ones on your eyes are obviously easier to see.

I've seen them too, seems like if you focus on something in the distance you can see them. For me, they "fall" downward, as if thats the way the tears move on your eye. I remember at one time like when I was little I thought I was "special" or something like seeing them haha

a friend once described them to me as artifacts, so i suppose that could fit into the leftover capillary theory... i find stairing at a big clear sky makes them very easily visible

I see those all the time as well (gulp)

At first glance they appear to be small microbial life forms, but while they might move from left to right, or up and down (across my field of vision) they never actually move themselves (so they're clearly not alive) just adrift within the fluid of the eye socket.

I've seen them as well. They have an exact name i can't remember what it is. It's definitly not protein, or capillaries. But what i've never understood about them is how can we focus on them so well when they are so close to our eyes, if not in our eyes? I can't even focus that well on my hand 5 inches in front of me.

Another interesting thing that sort of relates to this subject are phosphenes. You know when you go to rub your eyes and you get those closed eye visuals of colors, and shapes flowing around for a few seconds, well those are called phosphenes. I got in a deep argument with someone a while back as to whether they are considered a hallucination, or just a sensory distortion in the retina. I think it's both, but they keep insisting that it was only in the eyes. I doubt that.

Exactly and according to Wikipedia, the most common phosphenes are pressure phosphenes, caused by rubbing the closed eyes. The pressure mechanically stimulates the cells of the retina.

sounds like you need to see an eye doctor. i don't mean you're immagining anything. i mean there is a fairly well known medical condition INTERNAL to your eyes that can cause this phenominon.

Your suggestion might be a bit premature because I've experienced the same phenomena, and yet according to my optometrist my eyes are in perfect condition.

Sounds like floaters...Look like translucent catterpillars or sometn

When I was young I would only see a few circles from time to time but since I took lsd now its worst, like 6 circles attached together and all twisted around thats raining in my vision.
