Is the connection between stress and having a gut true? I am not over weight anywhere in my bod except for my stomach and am a healthy weight for my height. I notice the more stress I have the less I eat but the bigger my stomach gets and the smaller the rest of my body gets.
Can cortisol really do this or am I just underestimated the amount of christmas cookies and buttered rum I've macked down?

i'm pretty sure there is a connection between beer consumption and gut.

ahhh man ): I was hoping to give up stress, not beer ):

Wait, if I drink less beer then I will be more stressed, therefor producing more cortisol resulting in becoming even thicker in the waist...how's that for justification?

I've just stopped worrying about it. I know I'll be down to about 167 by the end of next summer, although I'm getting dangerously close to the 200 mark right now, which I've never hit before.

check out your sleeping patterns and your breakfast habits

gettting those 2 in check will have a postive (decrase) result in cortisol levels

Stop watching late night commercials lynsey. Stop watching commercials altogether. They are all a lie.

You're fine the way that you are.

Cortisol increases belly fat and relacore helps reduce belly fat, you need relacore!

at 6' it puts me overweight according to the BMI. I'm not really overly concerned though, I'm in pretty decent shape, I'm just cultivating quite the beer gut.

Plus my views on weight are skewed - too much wrestling and track back in highschool.

I ran track in high school too. I did the 1600, the 800 and the 3200.What did you do? I picked it up again but i suck.

hmmm 6'0 and 200 is not the least bit fat in my opinion. 167 and 6 foot is way too skinny to me. I like huge guys though

    i ran 5k and 10k.

ahh and at 167 i get cut. full on 6-pack, not a drop of fat on me, and i don't really lose all any muscle mass. dunno. imagine the way you'd look if all you did was excercise for 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. welcome to camp life.

i've never been fat... but i've never been skinny either. my build is probably around the upper third percentile.

I have heard about the link, and I'd like more info on it too. I've been stressed to the point of feeling myself drift away from my body, I don't know what the medical term is. I've had this semester, the first nervous breakdown I've had since puberty frelled my mind up. I've been gaining too, and don't know why. I forget to eat, half the time. One meal a day, if remember that, has been enough for me and I'm full. In all logic, I would've thought I was losing weight. Nope. Odd.

I'd like to think that down time and massages will result in a benefit to a weight stabilization routine.

does anyone at all have info on the cortisone : fat link if any?

according to the BMI 60% if our starting lineman are obeses and about 80% of our starting players are overweight that thing never calculates muscle.

Or bone structure. My family is short and built wide-boned. I'm so broad-shouldered that 120 lbs (my so-called ideal weight) would make me look underfed. I haven't seen that weight since Junior High. My real-life ideal is about 135 lbs. I'm 145 now.
