I know a lot of us pagans get the stereotype of being vegetarian feminists. Have yall ever received this stereotyping? I've gotten it on a number of occasions. It's true that I am these things but people that don't really even know me assume that I am... simply because of a stereotype. What do yall think? I know you guys probibly don't get this said to yall often but... do you know any girls who get this statement a lot?
Yeah I've heard that. I supposed I'm a feminist, but I'm not a vegetarian. I have spend many years living as a pagan, and I know I don't conform to the stereotypes. There are many people out there who do.
I've hung out with a lot of pagan females and I have never heard anyone use this sterotype with them. None of them are vegetarians and the only two "hardcore" feminsts I know aren't pagan at all.
I've never really noticed the stereotype, but seeing as I actually am a vegetarian feminist it wouldn't phase me.
I can honestly say that I've met a lot more vegetarians, feminists, lesbians, gays, activists, etc etc etc ad nauseum since becoming a pagan. Strangely, no conservatives. Hmmm...
I met one Pagan who is Middle of the road when it comes to politics. Questioned why Gays & Vegetarians are drawn to a Furtility religion with a God for the hunter! He also claims that "those" people are more New Agey then Pagan. I don't think I agree with that.
