Hi! Check out your local library, look in the juveniles section for a book called Kids can Crochet or Beginning crochet for Kids. Anything like that will have really easy to follow directions to get you started. i taught myself to knit and crochet using these types of kids books. They usually have big full color pictures, and word things so that it's really clear. Good luck! ~tree
somewhere on this site http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/ there's a crochet tutorial... although there are a zillion others online, if ya google it. Making a coat would be cool, although would be a huge project to start with. I'd recommend starting with smaller, 1 ball projects like a scarf or hat or something. Good luck!
...how to crochet! but i cant seem to find a book or anything to learn from and my mom refuses to teach me....anyone have any suggestions?
Go to any craft store anywhere... (I know there's a Jo-Ann's in Springfield, one in Eugene too) and they'll have books. You can get a basic squares/blankets book, a beginner's book, one that has patterns for hats and clothing... Most of them look like burly magazines. Some stores even have classes, so you might ask.
you can pick up 'begin to crochet' books anywhere... craft stores and book stores everywhere ought to have a few to choose from... also look online. (and at the risk of over-plugging my store, I've 2 begin-to-crochet books for sale there too)
yay..i want to learn so that i can get a start on next years xmas presents and the years bday presents....and yes humblebee i didnt even think to look at joannes..i live like 4 minutes from the one in springfield
Youtube is great. I also like to go into book stores (we have an amazing one in victoria called Bolen Books) and I just read their brand new craft books, put it back, and then leave with a million ideas.
