What's happening, friends? You wanna come and join me for a moment of peace and fellowship...? This means *everybody* - I'm not singling out any one group of people. I know it's not nearly as exciting as jumping someone's shit for having a difference of opinion (which is what beliefs are, when it comes down to it...), but I've not seen everyone in a while and I'd hate start it off with an argument... So let's talk instead! Believers - How long will we continue to forcefully bully our ways onto the ones we say we love, though we treat them in ways that are anything but loving? We love our enemies in word, b/c we were told to - Our deeds betray our true feelings. Is the way we go about treating people really His Way, or the way *we* think it ought to be handled? Unbelievers - How long will we continue to respond to the ways of the hateful and ignorant with prejudice and disrespect of all things of a Judeo-Christian nature, perhaps even including people? Will our ears and hearts close every time we hear the word Christ? Shouldn't religious freedom apply to all faiths, even theirs...? How long are we going to pretend that we shouldn't love each other for what we are, rather than who we "could" be? I could still be an unbeliever, but I'm not... But I'm not ignorant enough to choose not to love you because you are. I would be failing in my duties as your hippie sister if I did. P.S. - How is everyone anyways...? AND WHAT'S UP WITH THESE SMILEYS? Someone's been nursing on the glass tube filled with little white rocks, again, eh? :dupe: :spam: :nopity:
ROFL, I should have guessed.... This place hasn't changed a bit. Why would people rather fight than talk? Isn't that what's wrong with the world in the first place...? JUST HIT THE DARN THING, PASS IT AND TALK, DARNIT! :spliff:
hahahaha good to have you back HLS! Just had to say welcome back (((HUGS))) and that what you said in your first post was so right on!
Simple enough: A is the direct cause of B. Today's Christians wonder why people "bash" them...well, it's a delayed reaction to the hundreds of years' worth of bullshit they've been forcing down the throats of others.
Love you, man. I've missed being here to fellowship with everybody. *BIG HUGS* What's up, dude? Thanks for joining us! As everyone points out, Christianity is the relative newcomer inasfar as religion goes - Christ wanted to offer us a new way and a new freedom from the oppression of the Old Ways, and He was met with so much resistance that He died because of this. When Christianity was the newcomer, it was met with violent resistance... The result being martyrs... And I suppose in turn, Christians (being human) resorted to violent ways, too. The point is, how can we get this vicious cycle to *stop* so that we can heal our broken world...? Suggestions?
