Scrooge was funny before he got converted to christianity - trust god fearing folk to talk a load of tommy rot at him and swing him over to their way of thinking - what the story doesnt say is that in real life Bob would have seen through christianity and become an anticapitalist athiest and then would have gone round converting everyone to vote for a socialist party. Then the people could have rejoiced when they hung scrooges fat ass from a lampost. They would have saved everyone from the ordeal of being hated by god and saved everyone from the ordeal of being exploited by scrooge.
