Do they still have that overthecounter at walgreens, for how much, and or walmart or any other local drug store..?
It's called Plan B, and only actually got approved for OTC in the past month or so...if you're 18+ and have around $40, you're good to go. Can't believe there wasn't a big deal made on this forum the day it finally got approved.
i thought you could get it otc at places like that... but a friend of mine went looking for it and they turned her away. she had to go to the er to get it, and it turned into quite an ordeal. they completely invaded her privacy, made her have a complete examination and asked her tons of personal questions and such before they gave it to her.
hmm that is quite unlike in the UK. here if you show up an ER asking for the MAP you get the most junior doctor who'll ask you when (if it's more than 72 hours we offer a followup consultation at the local birth control clinic) and take general medical history and record a few vital stats - temp/pulse/bp. otherwise no internal exams of any sort. surely the idea is to make it easy for ladies to get it in a non-threatening environment then to put them off coming forward?
Is there a danger in the number of morning after pills you can take consecutively? Ie. do you need to wait a few days inbetween? If so how many?
Taking more than one dose doesn't improve your chances, so I don't understand why you would be taking more than one set consecutively. Why would you do that?
I'm not planning to have sex sporadically. Preferably at least a million times a night (okay, several). Hence I wonder if taking this pill every day for a week straight, let's say, will completely mess my system or is highly toxic.
It should only be taken if there is a pregnancy risk, to begin with, so why not just use condoms for that week? then, only if there is a mishap will you need to take one set. a single set is equal to several days worth of normal birth control, it can be very hard on the system to take it once for some females. taking more than one in a short period of time can cause real unpleasantness. taking a set every day for a week will cause a serious upset in your hormones and likely make you very ill for a while.
I don't like condoms. Thanks, that's what I thought. I just wondered about the specifics. I'll find out somewhere.
Considering the cost per dosage, you'd have to be quite wealthy to take them as often as it seems you'd like to...not to mention the fact that it's likely you'd arouse the suspicions of your pharmacist!
Here is Australia, i think that you can get them from the chemist, but the staff there have to discuss it with you first so they are sure you understand everything. (but i havent ever had it so i am not 100% sure)
