I do my best to stay away from Target, Walmart and the like, but I was browsing the Target site this morning looking for some gift wrap my boss wanted and I came across this...

    http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=sc_iw_r_6_0/601-3775402-6684902?ie=UTF8&asin=B000F0J7SQ

It is AWESOME for the price and would make over a bedroom beautifully. I love the rich browns for the winter season and the patchwork and cordoroy blended fabric is sooo cute. Woolrich products tend to stand the test of time, and this one is 100% cotton fill and shell (Vegan friendly) though who knows about the dyes. The price is GREAT - $55.00 for a twin, $63.99 for a Queen and $71.99 for a King - WOW.

Just in case you were in the market!

Well, all things considered...it's hard to find nice things in NJ cheap...we live in a world of high dollar malls out here.

yeah.. the rest of the country (and world, given this is an international list) is just country bumpkins with no high priced malls.
Honey, I grew up in the land of overpriced excess for the sake of excess, Dallas & Houston. Home to Needless-Markup, er, Nieman Marcus. I live a commuter train ride away from the highest priced malls in Colorado, Park Meadows and Cherry Creek (hey, Cherry Creek has always been about gold! it was the site of the original Colorado gold find)
We have Aspen not too far away. So, I understand the local economy being pitched at a higher price.

but you know what? my duvet cover was $30, new. Sure, my sweetie dyed it and his dyed covers (usually queen size, ours is simply a full) sell for $500.

as for the dyes in your OP, unless you are buying from the Mid East in a bazaar situation, dyes are chemical, not organic in base.
cochineal is almost exclusively used in the food market because of it's price, to move it into fiber and textile would be prohibitively expensive.
Woolrich uses aniline dyes. I explain them in our tie dye threads.
in short, 99.9 percent of textile dyes are not animal or insect derived.
