'Kay, so I just bought some wormwood extract on special order from a health food store. I originally got it for part of a blessing ritual for my scrying mirror. I was just wondering if there was anything else I could do with it. I heard it has some psychoactive stuff attached to it, but I don't know if it's safe to experiment with. Erowid didn't seem to have much information on wormwood itself (though there is PLENTY on Absinthe). Anybody know anything at all?

    Here's what I got:
    Wormwood liquid herbal extract
    Artemisia absinthium
    Leaf and flower
    1 fluid ounce
    Dry herb/menstruum ratio: 1:5
Contains certified organic grain alcohol (70-75%), distilled water and wormwood extractives

Okay, but I'm not looking to make absinthe. I just wondered if there was a certain amount I could take that would do something for me without killing me. :)

alpha-thujone is psychoactive, as it does antagonize GABA-1A receptors, which interestingly enough, is opposite action of ethanol. It's a neurotoxin which produces delusions, therefore not recommended for habitual use.

the "hallucinations" are similar to anticholinergics.
