Dude, most of the fabric there costs, like, 18.95 per meter! I got some natural, 100% unbleached cotton for $4.50 a meter, but they have "tie dyed" fabric, batik fabric, and all this other stuff I would totally buy if it wasn't so stupidly expensice. Ah well, if ever need batik stuff (which I'm sure I will eventually) r others, I'll just dye it at home...The ladies who worked there were nice though
If you want cheap fabric, you should get it online. Undyed fabric from www.dharmatraders.com runs from $1.99 a yard for cotton muslin to about $10.00 a yard for silk velvet. They also sell dye, and they ship your stuff literally the day after they get your order. You can also try www.fabric.com, www.fashionfabricclub.com, or www.denverfabrics.com, all of which have fabric that is priced significantly below retail value...even when you factor in the shipping costs, it's still cheaper. For hemp fabric, go to www.hemptraders.com. Even though their fabric is a bit pricey, it's worth it; they also have sale items for substantially less: $5.00/yard for 57" hemp/cotton muslin (in pretty, though subdued, colors). I got hemp/cotton corduroy for $5.00/yard last year, but I think it's restocked now, so the prices have gone up. I hope this helps you... alyce
